So you want to find a real ghost do you, well lets get you on your way to finding real haunted places in Calgary

  • Heritage Park- A ghostly woman has been seen on the 3rd floor, at night sometimes you can see a glow from the windows
  • The Grandstand, Stampede Park - It has been said that during the building of the grandstand, that a construction worker was killed by falling into the concrete being poured for the thick outer walls on either side. There have been reports of footsteps at night, water taps and lights being turned on and doors closing.
  • Symons playground - An abandoned school in the NE little ways out of the city. Late at night, sounds of children laughing are heard. Inside the school, there have been numerous reports of actual glimpses of the ghostly children playing. It has been said that 2 teens went in the school and were never found again though I doubt that one.
  • Cat & Fiddle Pub - Once a funeral home in days past, at the Cat & Fiddle there have been stories of moaning sounds and the sound of a lady crying.
  • Gulf Canada Square, Downtown - Reports that the basement, 6th & 19th Floors all have paranormal activity. Security officers there have also mentioned a spirit lady who follows them on the 6th floor and has actually thrown pens and paper at one of them.
  • Rose & Crown, Downtown - The Rose and Crown was once a funeral home in days gone by. According to Don Currie, a previous manager, there were tales of lights on the top floor turning on and off, particularly at night when the pub was unattended. Some of the staff were reluctant to go up to this floor even in the daytime.
  • Bow River - A figure of a middle-aged woman is seen that looks peaceful, but it is believed that she drowned in the Bow River. Some have even said in the early 1900's. This woman is seen walking near a shallow area where one other almost drowned, but was saved. She can be easily seen from the bike path, but she's often seen standing in the middle of the bike path.
  • The Deane House - History includes murder and suicide. Glass cabinets shatter on their own, guests at the house have reported seeing an Indian man, possibly Chief Deerfoot, in the basement during a murder mystery party. Cigar smoke, laugher and noises, and other spirits have been spotted in upstairs bedrooms.
  • Sears at North Hill mall - An old janitor has been heard and seen walking around the store turning on TVs and toys. He has been known to communicate with people from the catalogue department and he doesn’t appear to have bad intent.
